In this type of welding, aetylene is the common choice for a fuel, or often only gas welding. In case of gas welding and cutting, the required heat for melting the metal is acquired from a gas burning fuel in a torch.
Types of Oxyfuel Welding
Basically, there are four different types of oxy fuel welding process:
- Oxyacetylene welding: The process is so named because acetylene is chiefly the fuel gas used in the welding process. Heat source of the flame is produced by the chemical reaction or by burning of gases.
- Oxyhydrogen welding: In this process, hydrogen is the fuel gas used for welding. The heat of the flame is produced by either the chemical reaction or burning of the gases.
- Air acetylene welding: In this process, instead of oxygen, air is used as the burning gas.
- Pressure gas welding: This type of welding process involves application of pressure, along with the heat from the burning of gases.
Some of the common uses of oxy fuel gas welding machine are:
- Cutting steel alloys
- Manufacturing industries
- Soldering applications
- Gas plants
