Working Principle
The orbital or tube welding equipment consists of a power supply and an orbital weld head. In the welding process, tubes or pipes are fixed in place and there is an orbital weld head that rotates an electrode and electric arc around the weld joint to make the required weld. There is a power supply that provides the control specifications, the arc welding current, the power to drive the motor in the weld head and switches the shield gases on or off as and when required. Orbital weld heads are of enclosed type and offer an inner atmosphere cabinet that encloses the weld joint.
