Welding Process
The welding process involves pressing the metals tightly together thereby bringing the surfaces in contact with each other. The adhesion force is created by increasing the time of contact, raising the temperature of the workpieces, etc. The process may or may not require the use of fillers, heat or fluxes. The process uses cold pressure or cold welding technology and produces a weld that is stronger than the parent material without giving up electrical integrity.
Uses & Applications
The cold welding equipment finds wide application in different fields. Some of its popular uses are:
- Powder metallurgy
- Aerospace application
- Automotive application
- Joining non ferrous metals & their alloys
- Nuclear reactors
- Space environments
- Plastic welding
